Audax M. Gawler (nee Luna Mrozik Gawler) is a multigenre Symbiopunk working between disciplines to start the Symbiocene, a symbiotic, compassionate, reverent, post-anthropocentric planetary future.

This immersive, research-driven inquiry fuses live and participatory methods, media-based inquiry, scenography, and speculative design to investigate the cultural, political, and ecological entanglements of interspecies relations. Informed by queer and trans ecologies, natural sciences, ritual and posthuman methodologies, their work operates as speculative fieldwork for posthuman worlds, generating new/old ways of knowing that abandon anthropocentric legacies in favor of emergent, multispecies imaginaries.

Some of this work has included; an interspecies surrogacy clinic (Carrykin 2023), Multispecies engagement audits for art Institutions (MEEP 2022), participatory re-worlding led by viral bodies (Emissary2920, 2020), an immersive insect kinship lab (Flight Path 2019) and a seven-hour participatory eco-grief ritual (Mokita, 2017).

Beyond exhibition, Audax uses their research on multispecies thinking, ecologic stewardship and hope-full futures to publish fiction, non-fiction, academic scholarship as well as designing and facilitating educational programs, artist labs and industry panels. Their work is internationally recognised, and has been commissioned, programmed, exhibited, and published by institutions including Powerhouse Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences, The Australian Network of Art & Technology, Ian Potter Museum of Art, Multicultural Arts Victoria, The Sydney Institute for the Environment, The Interspecies Library, The Center for Projection Art, NIDA, The University of Utrecht, The University of Melbourne Center for Visual Art, The University of Sydney, and Konfstack University of Art, Craft and Design, The International Digital Media & Art Association, Art + Australia, The International Journal of Practice-based Humanities and Dark Mountain Journal.
